Catastrophe 31 is that I can’t find anything wrong with my friend getting married on a tropical island aside from basic premise (defining identity eternally). When we dated I wanted to be Catholic too but even before I knew it was over I knew better after reading an article about how poorly nuns are treated. The diamond was ethically mined—I’d like to be found in Quaker meeting. Even there, I find controversy: God’s purpose for poison ivy? I wonder about a true vow of silence, a natural retreat, renunciation.
